The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted at 9.13am to the A505 Royston to Baldock Road to a report of an expansion tank exploding and injuring a woman.
A paramedic ambulance crew from Letchworth GC ambulance station attended the scene.
EEAST spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The woman who we believe to be in her 40s received non-life threatening injuries and following treatment at the scene, she was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further care.”
