A woman getting off a bus in Letchworth on Tuesday was allegedly hit by it moments later – and with a prior altercation between the passenger and driver reported, police have today appealed for witnesses.

The verbal altercation is said to have happened when the woman got onto the bus at Stotfold.

After she got off the bus by the parade of shops outside Letchworth railway station at 11.15am, the bus allegedly hit her, causing her bruising.

Det Con Kathryn Marshall from the Hitchin local crime unit said: “There were several passengers on the bus who may have witnessed the verbal altercation and also some people on the street who may have seen the incident.

“I’m appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to contact me.”
