A WOMAN escaped with minor injuries after the car she was driving flipped over and landed on its roof during the morning rush hour (Tuesday).

A silver Nissan Micra was travelling along the A602 in Stevenage when it overturned at the roundabout for Lister Hospital, near Coreys Mill Sainsbury’s.

Emergency services were alerted at around 8.40am to the Hitchin Road crash, and one lane was temporarily closed.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The woman was out of the car on our arrival and was being cared for by members of the public who stopped to help.

“Paramedics checked her over and she did not require to go to hospital.

“We are asking the public to take care whilst driving as the roads are very slippery indeed. If you do not need to go out the best thing to do is stay indoors in the warm.”
