A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A1(M) this afternoon (Friday).
Two cars collided and hit the central reservation barrier on the southbound carriageway, a mile south of Junction 7 for Stevenage.
Following the crash at about 3.50pm, a woman was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage with a minor chest injury. The other driver did not require hospital treatment.
Emergency services were also called to the northbound slip road of Junction 7 following another crash. No one was hurt.
Traffic is said to be heavy both on and near the motorway and motorists are being urged to avoid the Stevenage area if they can.
