A man in his 40s has been arrested after a stand off with police outside the Spirella Building in Letchworth.
Emergency Services were called to the Spirella Building car park on Bridge Road at about 2.15pm today by a member of the public concerned with the ‘welfare of a man’ at the entrance of the building.
Officers were in attendance for more than two hours and cordoned off the area.
Nigel Webb posted on Twitter: “Massive #police presence at #Spirella building in #Letchworth. Car park blocked off by at least eight squad cars.”
And @DugganRL said: “Police outside the Spirella building in #Letchworth, man with a knife and police blocking the entrance.”
A police spokesman said: “The incident has safely concluded.”
