A road which had to be closed this afternoon due to a fire on a tractor and a trailer has reopened.

The A507 Station Road in Baldock and Whitehorse Street is open to traffic, but a closure is still in place at the Clothall Road traffic lights down to the other end of Clothall Road by the Wallington Road roundabout due to recovery work of the vehicle.

Fire crews and police officers were called to Clothall Road at the junction of Whitehorse Street at about 12.55pm.

Spilt fuel on the road was also on fire.

No injuries have been reported.
