All lanes on the A505 between Baldock and Royston have reopened after a two-vehicle crash which caused hours of delays.

Emergency services were called to the A505, near to the turn off for Ashwell, at around 1.50pm after a crash between a Volkswagen Golf car and a Renault van.

The A505 was closed in both directions until the eastbound carriageway reopened at around 4.30pm and the westbound carriageway reopened an hour later when all the vehicles were recovered.

Two women were in the car, with one treated for a neck injury and the other for chest and pelvic injuries. There was a man in his 30s in the van who received treatment to his neck, chest and leg. All were treated for their injuries at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, but none were thought to be serious.
