Road closures will be in place from tonight due to road resurfacing works.

The southbound carriageway of the A1(M) from junction 7 exit slip road, at Stevenage, to junction 6 entry slip road, at Welwyn, will be closed overnight from today for up to 13 nights. The closures will be in place from 8pm until 5am.

There will be a clearly signed diversion route via the A602, B197 and A1000 to re-join the A1(M) southbound at junction 6. Drivers intending to travel on the A1(M) are advised to plan their journeys and allow some extra time to reach their destinations.

Live traffic information is available on the Highways Agency website and mobile app, and drivers can also listen to traffic bulletins on local radio for updates. Visit www.highways.gov.uk/traffic for more.
