Traffic is not moving on the A1(M) between the two Stevenage junctions after a three-vehicle crash this morning.

Police were called just after 9.50am to a three-vehicle crash in the outside lane of the southbound carriageway, just past Junction 7 for Stevenage.

The crash – which is believed to have involved a grey Vauxhall Insignia, a black Volkswagen Touareg and another vehicle – has caused heavy delays between Junction 8 for Stevenage and Junction 6 for Welwyn, with traffic not moving at present between J8-J7.

It is not believed ambulance crews are required.

Update 11.30am: The carriageway is now flowing freely.
