Motorists have been warned to expect traffic delays during two marches taking place today (Saturday).

A rolling road block will be in place along Stevenage High Street due to an English Defence League (EDL) demonstration which is expected to start at 1.30pm. The march will affect some bus services in the area.

The entrance and exit routes to the Tesco Extra car park and the railway station on Lytton Way will also be restricted while the march progresses past these points.

A Trade Union Congress countermarch will start at Town Centre Gardens at around 1pm and will proceed along St George’s Way into Southgate car park where an address will take place and then the gathering will disperse.

Traffic will also be disrupted in this area during this time and St George’s Way will be closed while the march takes place.
