Teenager charged with drink-driving after Stevenage roundabout crash

A TEENAGER has been charged with drink-driving after a car crashed into a Stevenage roundabout during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Alexander Coate, of Briary Wood Lane, Welwyn, has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a black Vauxhall Corsa crashed into a roundabout connecting Gunnels Wood Road with Clovelly Way at about 1.10am.

The 19-year-old was taken to Lister Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries before being arrested and charged.

Coate is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on February 8.
