A witness appeal has been launched after a teenage girl was involved in a collision with a van.
Amy Fairbairn, 13, was walking home from Marriotts School when the incident occurred at 3.10pm.
She was taken to Lister Hospital but later discharged with a broken nose and leg bruising.
Mum Carol Fairbairn, of Ripon Road, said: “She’s been really shaken by the incident. We once had a relative die as a result of a road accident so I’m always telling my children to be careful on the roads. I hope we can find out more about how this happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Adam Frost on the police non-emergency number 101 quoting the crime ref. number 545/30/04/14
