There are tailbacks at the north end of the High Street in Stevenage after a car went off the road and damaged three bollards near the war memorial.

Police were called at 8.32am to attend the incident involving a silver Ford Fiesta and another vehicle.

The war memorial itself was not damaged and there were no injuries reported.

A council spokesman said that arrangements were in place to carry out repair work.
