A Stevenage man died this morning after he was hit by a train.
The man, believed to be 49-years-old was hit by an East Coast train travelling between London King’s Cross and Leeds just after 7.30am.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP attended St Neots railway station following report of a person struck by a train. We were called at 7.40am and Cambridgeshire police officers also attended.
“We are currently treating the incident as non suspicious.
“Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service also attended the incident, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the man’s identity and inform his family.”
Commuters faced delays of up to 90 minutes as services were disrupted.
