Stevenage man hospitalised after being impaled on 6ft spike

A man has been hospitalised after being impaled on a 6ft spike this morning (Wednesday).

Emergency services were called to the scene at Redcar Drive, Stevenage, at 12.45am to reports of a man having impaled his leg on a fence spike.

The man was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage after fire crews used cutting equipment to free him.
