Police have arrested a man in Letchworth on suspicion of causing damage in a Tesco Express store and to wing mirrors of parked cars.

Officers were called to Bedford Road at about 7.15pm yesterday to reports that the man was staggering in the road.

A 31-year-old man from Stevenage was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, affray and a public order offence. He remains in custody.
