Commuter traffic, the continued closure of Junction 7 of the A1M and festival goers leaving Sonisphere caused long tailbacks on the motorway and approach roads throughout rush hour this morning (Monday).
Drivers faced delays especially around Junction 8 of the A1M and the Knebworth area as traffic backed up getting on to the motorway and into Stevenage.
Junction 7 will reopen to local traffic at noon.
