A lorry hit a railway bridge in Hitchin this afternoon.
The truck’s cab was damaged when it hit the Woolgrove Road bridge, near Walsworth Common, while driving under at about 1pm.
Police briefly closed the road before reopening it at around 1.15pm.
No injuries were reported, and a police spokewoman said the bridge was undamaged.
Passer-by Ian Harrison mused on Twitter: “Brilliant. Forty-ton truck stuck under bridge in Woolgrove Road, Hitchin. D’oh!”
