A motorcyclist is in a critical condition with serious leg injuries after a crash with a car on the A505 near Ashwell last night – and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The man, riding a black and blue Suzuki motorcycle away from Baldock and towards Royston, crashed with a brown Honda CR-V between the Ashwell and Litlington junctions – near the derelict Horse and Groom pub – at about 10.17pm.
The road was closed afterwards and the motorcyclist was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he remains in a critical condition. Initial reports had indicated that no-one was seriously injured.
Officers investigating the crash have appealed for anyone who saw the motorcyclist, thought to have travelled from Ashwell, shortly before the collision to get in touch.
Anyone with information should contact PC Martin Longley on 101, quoting ISR 908 of September 1.
