Damage has been caused to two cars after a collision in Hitchin on Monday – and police are now appealing for witnesses and information.

The incident involved a black Vauxhall Astra which was travelling on Wilshere Crescent in the direction of Stotfold Road.

The Astra collided with two other stationary vehicles, causing damage to both.

A 43-year-old man from Letchworth has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Chris Brown said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have heard or seen something around the time if the incident and has not yet spoken to the police.

“If you saw a vehicle matching the description driving erratically in the vicinity of Wilshere Crescent, we would like to hear from you.”
