A person was taken to hospital after a car left the A505 near Hitchin yesterday afternoon.
The crash, at about 12.30pm, saw a blue Mini Cooper go over the near-side barrier of the A505 between Hitchin and Offley and end up in a ditch.
A crane was arranged to lift the car out, as police quipped on Twitter that the crash had happened during “Dukes of Hazzard tryouts” – a reference to the classic US comedy series.
A lane was closed during recovery.
An ambulance service spokesman said a rapid response vehicle and ambulance attended the scene, with one patient taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital for further treatment.
