Hero paramedics revived a motorist who lost consciousness and stopped breathing in Biggleswade yesterday morning.
An air ambulance, road ambulance crew and officer rushed to London Road at 7.45am in response to a 999 call after a man described as in his 50s started having chest pains.
Police said the man had become unwell at the wheel of his car.
While the paramedics were treating the patient at the scene, he became unconscious and stopped breathing – but an ambulance service spokeswoman said the crew “achieved a return of spontaneous circulation”.
The man was then taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital by road ambulance.
The Comet has made enquiries regarding the man’s current condition, but has yet to receive any confirmation.
