Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed a car overturning yesterday afternoon between Letchworth and Stotfold to come forward.
The silver Renault Clio was driving north towards Stotfold on Norton Road at about 2.15pm when the driver, for reasons that at this stage are not clear, lost control on a bend and left the road.
The driver, a 36-year-old man, was trapped inside the overturned car unconscious. He was cut free by firefighters and airlifted in a critical condition to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where his condition remains serious.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information which could assist the investigation should contact PC David Charlton via the non-emergency number 101.
