A road between Aston and Stevenage was blocked for two hours last night after a driver overturned his Audi A3 while trying to avoid killing a fox.

Matt Brown, who is in his 20s, was out of the car when police and an ambulance crew arrived shortly following the incident on Aston Lane, near Broadwater Lane, at about 9.15pm. No other vehicles were involved. The road was blocked, and reopened at about 10.50pm.

Matt was treated for back pain and taken to the Lister Hospital for further treatment.

He confirmed to the Comet that he was OK, adding: “Accidents happen, I’m just glad no-one else was involved.

“This was not the kind of fame I was looking for.”
