My first car, at the age of 18, in 1990, was a blue Triumph Dolomite.

The Sprint version of this car was at the time, I believe, the fastest production car in production, it was also one of the cars used by Doyle in the TV show The Professionals with Martin Shaw and Lewis Collins.

Dolomites did have a habit of warping their alloy cylinder heads which cost a fortune to repair, so I made the choice of buying the non-Sprint version. One of my earliest memories was spending an Easter weekend at Pontins at Hemsby with a group of friends, where we drunk pints of mild in glass jugs, played bingo, danced with bluecoats and had a fun weekend with the Dolomite parked safely in the car park.

I bought the car when it had done 75,000 miles and sadly said goodbye to it when it had done 97,000 miles.
