A mum was taken to hospital with a head injury after a two-car crash in Baldock in which a child was also hurt.
An ambulance crew and officer were despatched to the junction of Letchworth Road and Hopewell Road after the crash at 11.50am, with police and firefighters also called to the scene.
Both engines from Baldock & Letchworth Fire Station in Weston Way attended after reports that people were trapped, with one person freed by firefighters.
Police said the two cars involved were a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a white Vauxhall Insignia. The road was clear by 1pm.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said paramedics treated a mother and child for minor injuries, with the mum taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital for further treatment on a minor head injury.
