Emergency services have been called to the A1(M) following reports of a two car crash.
Police and the ambulance service are at the scene of junction 8 southbound between Hitchin and Stevenage.
The call came in at 3.57pm after a white Ford Fiesta hit a fence and rolled off the road. The second car involved is a Range Rover.
The Ford Fiesta is currently on the hard shoulder and is slightly blocking lane one of the motorway. A vehicle recovery team has been called to move the car.
There are no details of injuries but motorists have been warned to expect delays and queuing traffic.
