A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash that led police to close the A602 near Stevenage for an hour this morning, with an air ambulance called out.
Emergency crews including the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance rushed to the scene near Watton-at-Stone after the crash at about 8.20am, which police said involved a car and a scooter.
The motorcyclist, a man, was treated for lower limb injuries before being taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital by road ambulance for further care. An ambulance service spokesman said he was thought to be in a stable condition.
Police closed the stretch of road, reopening it at about 9.40am. Officers remain at the scene.
