A MOTHER and child have been hit by a car in Hitchin this morning (Thursday).
Emergency services were called to Bedford Road, near BP petrol station, at around 8.50am after a silver Volvo Estate collided with a woman and a young boy.
The woman has been taken to Lister Hospital with minor injuries, while the boy, believed to be between eight and 10, was treated at the scene before being taken home.
