A MAN had to be freed from his car, after crashing into a tree this morning (Monday).
The man, who was driving along Hexton Road from Hitchin towards Barton-le-Clay, collided with the tree around 5.30am.
He had to be cut from his vehicle by fire crews from Hitchin and Stevenage.
The man, who is believed to be local, was not injured. Ambulance crews were alerted to the scene, but did not deem it necessary to take him to hospital.
Police closed the road to deal with the incident and clear debris. It has now reopened.
