A man was taken to hospital in a critical condition this afternoon after collapsing in Hitchin’s Barclays bank.
The ambulance service were called at about 4pm after reports that a man had collapsed in Hitchin High Street.
A rapid response vehicle was on scene in four minutes to treat the patient – a man believed to be in his 50s – and joined by an ambulance, a community first responder and an ambulance officer.
The man was then taken by ambulance to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital in a critical condition.
Police were also called to the scene to assist.
