A MAN was taken to hospital this morning (Thursday) after his car veered off a carriageway.
Emergency services were called to Hitchin Road, Pegsdon at 2.39am after a black Vauxhall Corsa caught alight after the driver of the car hit a tree.
The road was closed off while fire crews from Shefford, Luton and Stopsley were called to make the car safe.
The man was taken to The Luton and Dunstable Hospital for further treatment.
The road re-opened just after 4am.
