A man in his 60s has been treated for chest pain after a crash on the A1(M) this afternoon between Junction 6 for Welwyn and Junction 7 for Stevenage.

Police and the ambulance service were called at about 2.15pm after reports of a collision on the northbound carriageway involving a red/orange Triumph motorbike and a blue Ford Fiesta.

A man in his 60s – said to be conscious and breathing – was being treated at the scene for chest pains at about 3.15pm. An ambulance spokesman said the man may require to go to hospital but his injuries weren’t thought to be serious.

The motorcycle has been recovered and police left the scene at 3.30pm.
