The man was injured after a van was in collision with a car and lamppost in Letchworth on Saturday.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) was alerted to Spring Road at 1.37pm to a report of a van colliding with a stationary vehicle then coming to rest against a lamp post. Ambulance crews from Letchworth and Stevenage attended the scene.

EEAST spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the collision, said: “The man was very lucky indeed not to have sustained serious injuries following the collision. Paramedics worked closely with the fire service to treat, stabilise and immobilise him before he was taken to the Lister Hospital for further care.”
