THE A1(M) was shut and a man hospitalised after a two-lorry smash this afternoon (Thursday).
The northbound stretch of the motorway was shut from Junction 6 to 7 for almost an hour after two lorries collided shortly before noon.
The emergency services were scrambled and a man was taken by ambulance to hospital. His injuries are as yet unclear. The vehicles were recovered and the road reopened by 12.50pm.
