A man was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) after two cars collided on the A1(M) – with one travelling in the wrong direction.
The crash occurred on the northbound carriageway between junction 8 and 7 for Stevenage after a black Volvo S80 and blue Kia Rio collided at around 12.20am.
One of the cars was reported to be travelling in the opposite direction at the time, with warnings issued asking motorists to drive at 20mph.
A man from one of the cars was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage with minor injuries.
The northbound carriageway was shut following the collision, but had reopened by 2.30am.
