A man has had to be cut out of his car following a serious collision this morning (Monday).
Emergency services were called around 9.15am to Hexton Road, Hexton, near Hitchin following reports of a black Vauxhall Astra and a Alpha Romeo in collision.
The ambulance service sent two crews, two officers and the East Anglian Air Ambulance to the scene.
The driver of the Alfa Romeo had to be cut out of his car and has been taken to hospital.
A woman has also been taken to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital by land ambulance accompanied by the air ambulance team.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said that both patients have serious injuries.
Herts Fire Control tweeted: “Hitchin day crew are working with @BedsFire, @roadpoliceBCH & @EastEnglandAmb at a serious RTC in Hexton. PLs avoid Barton Road area.”
Motorists should expect delays.
