A man was cut out of his car following a three-vehicle crash on the A1(M) which caused significant traffic problems this morning.
Emergency services were called to the A1(M) southbound after a crash involving two cars and a van between Junction 7 for Stevenage and Junction 6 for Welwyn Garden City at around 6.10am.
Both lanes were closed southbound and one lane northbound while the vehicles were recovered. The man was taken to Lister Hospital to be treated for his injuries, but a spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said they were not thought to be life-threatening. All lanes reopened at around 7.30am.
There continues to be traffic around Stevenage, Knebworth and Codicote.
