A MAN has been taken to hospital after being cut free from his car in a crash which shut a road this afternoon (Monday).
Emergency services were called to Fairlands Way in Stevenage at the junction with Lonsdale Road at about 3pm after a black BMW 316i collided with a silver Hyundai Matrix.
The BMW driver had to be freed from his car by firefighters using cutting equipment before being taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage with neck and back injuries.
The other driver was unhurt.
Fairlands Way was shut from Lonsdale Road to the junction of Bedwell Crescent but has since reopened.
