A major Stevenage road will be closed during the night for over a week from Monday.

Fairlands Way, from the Grace Way to Verity Way roundabouts, will be closed from 8pm to 5am for an estimated 10 nights for resurfacing works.

A Herts Highways spokesman said although they would try to stick to these hours, there was “a possibility” that works may be done outside them.

He said: “Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, but at times a degree of delay, depending on the location and progress of the works, will be inevitable. In order for the works to be completed as quickly as possible, and to minimise inconvenience, we would ask that residents refrain from parking in the location of the works.”

He warned that bad weather and “unforeseen problems” could extend the closure.
