A lorry carrying glass has shed its load on the A505 between Royston and Baldock.

Police are currently at the scene of the incident, which happened at about 9.10am between the Odsey turning for Ashwell and the turning for Wallington and Rushden. The lorry was travelling west towards Baldock.

There is glass on the carriageway and the lorry is blocking two lanes – but a force spokeswoman has said no formal road closures are in place.

A motorist told this paper: “There was glass all over the road, It looked like you were hitting a patch of snow.

“People were driving up on the grass verge to get round it.”
