There were long delays between Hitchin and Stevenage last night following a two-car crash on the A602.
Emergency services were called to the A602 – by the Little Wymondley bypass – following a collision between a silver Ford Focus and a green Renault Megane at about 7pm.
Traffic was backed up as far as Junction 7 of the A1(M) while the two vehicles were recovered from the scene.
There were no serious injuries and the road was reopened at about 8.30pm.
