Anyone in Stevenage who has been affected by bus cuts introduced earlier this month is being invited to attend a meeting tonight.
Campaign group Save Our Buses wants to find ways of pressurising Herts County Council into restoring axed services.
Campaigner Terry Figg, who lives in Chells, said: “I’ve already been affected since the cuts came in at the start of this month. The bus I used to take home now only comes every 40 minutes instead of 20 minutes.”
Terry set up the group after the county council said it needed to save £1.47 million from its budget. It has done this by not subsidising any routes after 7.30pm or on Sundays unless they serve hospitals. Thousands of people have already signed petitions against the cuts.
Monday’s meeting will be held in the Friends Meeting House in Cuttys Lane from 7pm. Find out more at www.save-our-buses.org.uk.
