Drink-driving arrest after car hits two parked vehicles in Hitchin

A 43-year-old Letchworth man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crashed into two stationary vehicles in Hitchin.

The crash happened in Wilshere Crescent at about 4am on Monday.

A black Vauxhall Astra, travelling towards Stotfold Road, hit the two stationary vehicles and damaged them both.

PC Chris Brown, who is investigating, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have heard or seen something around the time of the incident and has not yet spoken to police to please come forward.

“If you saw a vehicle matching the description driving erratically in the vicinity of Wilshere Crescent, we would like to hear from you.”
