AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a car overturned on the A1(M) yesterday (Sunday) leaving a woman and a boy in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway just before junction 8 for Stevenage at about 10.55am after a silver Toyota Yaris overturned and came to stop in a nearby field.

A woman and a young boy inside the car were taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage with slight injuries.

A silver Mercedes E220 was also involved but police believe a third car failed to stop and are now investigating the crash.
