Traffic has been heavy on the A1(M) this morning (Tuesday) due to fog.
The police have had no reported accidents on the motorway, with the weather conditions causing delays southbound between junction 9 for Letchworth Gate and junction 7 for Stevenage.
A car did break down just passed junction 7, creating a partial obstruction southbound in the lane closest to the central reservation.
Traffic is also said to have been heavy around Gunnels Wood Road. also due to fog.
A police spokesman said: “We would ask motorists to drive according to the conditions, driving at a lower speed than you normally would.”
