A YOUNG girl has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling onto a metal spike this morning (Monday).
The eight-year-old girl is believed to have sustained the injury while climbing over a fence in Nightingale Way, Stotfold, at around 11.45am.
A Cambridgeshire police helicopter was used to convey a doctor and paramedics from Magpas’ Helimedix Team to the scene.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “On the arrival of the paramedics, they found the girl in a serious condition.
“After extensive treatment and stabilisation by paramedics and a doctor, the girl was airlifted from the scene to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire.”
