A stage of the Friends Life Women’s Tour was disrupted temporarily after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle.
Emergency services were called to the B656 between Hitchin and Codicote at around 1pm after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle which is believed to have been stationary.
The motorcyclist, in his 60s, was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage to be treated for his injuries.
While paramedics worked on the scene the road was reduced to a single lane and cyclists were instructed to slow down as they passed before resuming normal speed further along the road.
A spokesman for The Women’s Tour 2014 said: “We’ve had to neutralise the stage at 13.30 because of the paramedics working at the incident ahead of us. our thoughts are with the person injured in the road accident.”
