Commuters face delays to train services this morning between Stevenage and Kings Cross.
No trains are currently running on the Great Northern Line and services are being redirected around the Hertford Loop.
There is also a rail replacement bus service are in operation between Hatfield and St Albans.
First Capital Connect (FCC) tweeted at around 8.30am: “Owing to a person hit by a train at #Hatfield all lines between Welham Green and Welwyn Garden City are blocked.”
It is not known when the line will re-open and services will continue.
FCC tickets are being accepted on London Underground services and Greater Anglia.
