Firefighters had to cut free the driver of a car which ended up in a ditch after a crash near Stevenage in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to Short Lane in Aston End at about 1.40am after a black BMW 3 Series left the road and came to a halt in a ditch.
The road was shut while two Stevenage fire crews worked with specialist cutting equipment to free the man trapped inside.
The driver was then taken to hospital with a head injury, and was said to be in a stable condition by an ambulance service spokesman.
